Auto Repair Shop Software Cost in 2026

Compare auto repair shop software cost in 2026. Shopmonkey pricing, Tekmetric pricing and AutoLeap price vs autoGMS, with per-user and setup fees.

Auto repair shop software cost is more than the number on the pricing page. Per-user fees, setup fees and paid add-ons add up fast.

This guide compares Shopmonkey pricing, Tekmetric pricing and the AutoLeap price with autoGMS, the software we build. For each one, you’ll see what the entry plan includes, what costs extra, and which shops it suits best.

Pricing at a glance

Entry-plan prices from each vendor’s website, checked October 2026.

The cheapest plan isn’t always the cheapest choice. Shopmonkey Basic and AutoLeap Essentials leave out inventory, so a shop that tracks parts needs a higher plan. Shopmonkey also charges $20/mo for each user after the third. Here’s what each plan includes.

Shopmonkey pricing

Shop monkey pricing starts at $239/mo for the Basic plan, or $215/mo billed annually. There are four plans:

  • Basic, $239/mo. 3 users, two-way texting, unlimited estimates and invoices, and integrated payments. No inventory.

  • Clever, $399/mo. 4 users. Adds inventory, purchase orders, a time clock and QuickBooks Online.

  • Genius, $499/mo. 5 users. Adds automated estimate follow-ups and Google Reviews management.

  • Multi-Shop. Custom price.

Extra users cost $20/mo each. A 6-person shop on Basic pays $299/mo before add-ons, so the real Shopmonkey price depends on team size. Data migration is a one-time $500 fee. Card readers cost $299 plus $10/mo per device, and Shopmonkey doesn’t publish its card processing rates.

Best for: small teams that want texting and payments built in.

Tekmetric pricing

Tekmetric pricing starts at $199/mo for the Start plan, or $179/mo billed annually. Every plan includes unlimited users, and there’s no long-term contract.

  • Start, $199/mo. Inventory, digital inspections, digital authorizations and invoicing.

  • Grow, $349/mo. Adds a labor guide, maintenance schedules and time clocks.

  • Scale, $439/mo. Adds two-way texting, a shop dashboard and technician performance reports.

  • Enterprise. Custom price.

Two-way texting only comes with Scale, so a shop that texts customers pays $439/mo. Payments are an add-on with no published price. The marketing add-on costs $345/mo. Multi-shop owners pay for a plan at each location, plus $70/mo per shop.

Best for: growing teams, since adding staff doesn’t raise the price.

AutoLeap pricing

The AutoLeap price starts at $199/mo for the Essentials plan, or $179/mo billed annually.

  • Essentials, $199/mo. Unlimited repair orders, digital inspections, e-signatures and parts ordering.

  • Pro, $349/mo. Adds two-way texting, inventory, time clocks and QuickBooks Online.

  • Elite, $449/mo. Adds Google Reviews, a real-time shop dashboard and the AutoLeap app.

  • Enterprise. Custom price.

Texting and inventory both start on Pro, so a shop that needs either one pays $349/mo. Every plan has a one-time setup fee for data migration and training, but AutoLeap doesn’t publish the amount. Its AI receptionist costs $99/mo extra.

Best for: shops that want hands-on setup and training.

autoGMS pricing

autoGMS is our software, so we’ve held it to the same checks. Core costs $219/mo, or $2,190/yr billed annually, which works out to 2 months free.

  • Core, $219/mo. Online booking, job and bay management, digital job cards, inventory, customer CRM, and invoicing and expenses.

  • Scale. Custom price for multi-location groups. Adds API access, custom workflows and a dedicated success manager.

There are no per-user fees, so your auto repair shop software cost stays the same as your team grows. Inventory is included from the first plan.

Best for: independent shops that want inventory and booking without paying for a higher tier.

Costs to check before you sign

The monthly price is only part of what you’ll pay. Ask every vendor about these:

  • Per-user fees. Shopmonkey charges $20/mo for each extra user.

  • Setup and migration. Shopmonkey charges $500. AutoLeap charges a fee it doesn’t publish.

  • Card processing. Shopmonkey and Tekmetric don’t publish their rates.

  • Feature tiers. Texting or inventory can push you onto a plan that costs $150–$240/mo more.

  • Contract length. Tekmetric has no long-term contract. Ask the others.

Which one fits your shop

  • Small team that wants texting and payments built in: Shopmonkey Basic.

  • Growing team that keeps hiring: Tekmetric, because every plan has unlimited users.

  • Shop that wants hands-on setup and training: Autoleap.

  • Independent shop that needs inventory and booking from day one: autoGMS Core.
