Auto repair inventory software. Parts go on the repair order.

Assign parts or a kit to a repair order and autoGMS takes them off stock right away. When the job closes, you confirm what was used and the rest goes back on the shelf. Run several shops? Transfer stock between them, or pull from a central warehouse.

From the shelf to the repair order in four steps.

  1. 1 Stock the shelves

Add parts one at a time, scan the barcode, or import up to 500 rows from a spreadsheet. Set a minimum and maximum for each part. autoGMS flags it when stock runs low.

  2. 2 Assign parts to the job

Pick parts or a kit from the repair order, or scan the barcode on the box. Stock comes off the count as soon as you assign.

Kit · Oil change kit: oil filter, drain plug washer and oil.
  3. 3 Confirm what was used

When the job closes, enter the quantity the tech actually used. The rest goes back into stock, and autoGMS tracks the waste.

  4. 4 Reorder on a purchase order

Email the order from autoGMS, or open WhatsApp with it ready and tap send. Receive the delivery in four steps, add landed costs such as shipping and customs, and stock updates when you complete the order. Send returns back as vendor credits.

Four ways onto a job. Use whichever fits the part.

  • The part is on the shelf

    Assign from stock

Search by name or browse by category, set the quantity, and assign.

  • The box is in your hand

    Scan the barcode

Scan with the phone camera to see stock and price, then assign in one step. Type the number if the camera can't read it.

  • It's a job you do every week

    Assign a kit

A kit adds each of its parts to the repair order. Remove optional parts before you confirm.

  • You don't have it yet

    Order it for the job

Mark the purchase order line for that job. When you complete the order, the part lands on the repair order at its landed cost.

More than one location? Transfer stock between your garages, or turn on Central Warehouse to keep shared stock in one place and pull a shortfall from it while you assign.

Where it stops. Better to know now.

  • Orders go out by email or WhatsApp. You send orders by email or WhatsApp, and update costs by importing a vendor's price list as a CSV file.
  • WhatsApp isn't automatic. autoGMS opens WhatsApp with the purchase order ready, and you tap send.
  • Techs don't assign parts. Techs see the parts on their jobs. Owners and admins assign them, and only owners and managers open purchase orders.
  • Sent orders are locked. Once a purchase order goes out, you can't edit or reopen it. Make a new one, or record a vendor credit for a return.

Questions shops ask

What happens to the parts if a job is canceled?

Parts assigned to the job go back into stock automatically.

Can I bring in my parts list from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Import a CSV file of up to 500 rows and 5 MB. A row whose SKU matches an existing part updates that part instead of making a duplicate.

Can I look up a part by an old or aftermarket number?

Yes. Part Lookup matches old, OEM and aftermarket reference numbers to the parts you stock, and shows the newest replacement when a number has been superseded.

What if a delivery comes in short?

Receive what arrived. Complete + reorder closes the order and creates a new one for the missing quantities.

Can I sell parts over the counter?

Yes. Record an over-the-counter sale for a walk-in or a saved customer. Stock drops, and the sale shows in the customer's history.
